Poor people: They were evacuated from Puerto Rico to Orlando, Florida, and placed in hotels, now some mothers with disabled children are being left to fend for themselves due to FEMA, not extending the coupons necessary for their stay. Yet, we can find money for all these other immigrants from other countries, and cannot take care of our own BONA FIDE AMERICAN CITIZENS. Go Figure.
3 months in a hotel with room service is enough time. If FEMA says you can return to Puerto Rico because your area is good then you have to go back or find a job in Florida. They extended to March 20 for some and it's on a case by case basis........if FEMA doesn't do that a lot of people will abuse the system and will stay for a year at the hotels.
If you have disabled children, you get priority just about for anything from the federal and state government.
They need to go to places wherever there are jobs and affordable place to live. Not all try to come to the same small area in Florida.
Especially if you have no relatives, friends or support in Florida.

I agree but Florida has 67 counties. I have been in Orlando, Pensacola, Jacksonville and Miami (Northern Florida is a lot nicer to live and for jobs in my opinion) Florida is a lot more than just Orlando.
But they have to move and act.....you just can't sit at the hotel for 3 months doing nothing and expect the government to take care of you for everything and when that expires you have no idea what to do..........get yourself to the local state workforce services in person or online and start applying and get in the system. There they have federal and state help for your needs. Go visit local churches because you meet people that know people and word gets around. .....you'll be surprised how many employers are looking for workers.

This is what happens when 300,000+ people flood a medium sized city that was already suffering from a severe housing crisis before the Maria refugees even showed up.
These people need to either go back to Puerto Rico, or go someplace else on the mainland. There's a whole big mainland out there. If they are so dead set on living in Florida why not take a look at the Miami, Tampa, or Jacksonville areas?

It's better than living in a Kissimmee motel--doing nothing for three months, as Hellion said--hoping for more government aid so you don't end up on the street. And it's cheaper to live in South Dakota anyway. Since they are American they don't have to worry about ICE.

After a long and arduous journey they landed in Honolulu..The LA Times reported in 1901 that the Puerto Ricans were starved and mistreated by their shippers and the Railroad company.
They were paid less than any of the other workers that came from The Phillipines, Portugal etc.

Had discussion with client yesterday, the problem is PR infrastructure needs to be rebuilt, so people can can make a living. Agreeing with President trump, their state government has done little to reduce debt obligations. Sounds like they got use to the free room and board, are now abusing the system.
The FEMA recipients in Florida, need direction of their options. If somebody doesn't push them, they will continue to live for free....
My wife is in PR right now with her elderly parents. She just text me, no electricity, no internet, and the refrigerator doesn't work. Looked solar large panels to send them, the problem is the delivery. We got them solar chargers for their phones. One thing about Puerto Rico, has a strong sense of family. People there are banding together to rebuild what they had.
