The first thing the governor needs to cancel is the dumb ass who signed that lousy contract. That whitefish is way past its "best by" date, and it stinks to high heaven. Like they will say in PR, "Ese whitefish esta abombao" (That whitefish is putrid).

But for this issue I suspect that the recovery process would have been faster. The common denominator in all that hurts people is the lack of electricity. Not only generating it but as important distributing it.

that's not really the problem..that's like rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. They need to PRIVATIZE the whole Power Company just like they did the Puerto Rican Telephone company in the 90's which was a mess and full of corruption and it took 3 months to get service and that was in normal conditions.

That may be the quickest means to that end in PR, but not the only one. There are plenty of public power utility companies on the mainland who provide reliable and cheap power to their customers.

if you want accountability and good service you have to take it out of the corrupt politics of Puerto Rico just like they did the telephone company which now it's CLARO and it was a few things working after the hurricane in the island.

It won't be easy because the Unions and the left will fight and protest in the streets and block it just like they did when the government privatized the telephone company and the airport but it has to be done......the more limits you put on the size of government of Puerto Rico the better. With a 74 billion dollar debt, they can't handle it.

Just like downsizing the 78 municipios, which for a small island of 130 x 35 miles that is just ridiculous.

Why do you think the best education in Puerto Rico is PRIVATE and they spend a lot of less money than what they spend in the public schools? politics and lack of accountability....its easier to FIRE bad teachers, bad principals, and bad administrators in private schools and do reforms than in the public schools because they know they can't survive if they run a bad school system. In the public schools, they take bad teachers, bad principals, and bad administrators and rotate them to other schools and districts because of politics and the Unions.
