Wait time for an uber in san juan is ridiculously low while it is nonexistent in other parts of the island such as near the aguadilla airport

I had to take an Uber last week in Bayamon (large town adjacent to San Juan). Not a very good experience. First driver that responded asked me if I had cash (huh?) then cxld. 2nd driver confirmed then cxld. 3rd driver that confirmed couldn't find the gated entrance to the subdivision to I had to walk down there to meet him. Then couldn't find the location I was going to in his GPS ... you're better off renting a car but don't rely on Siri maps or Google maps for the smaller towns.

I actually had a decent experience with Uber. I had to return a rental car to the airport and my chase driver got sick. I was curious if I could use the Uber App - possibly the ban had been lifted? Well, I returned the car and, sure enough, the app refused to give me service from the interior of the airport. I looked on google maps and there was a supermarket right on the edge of the airport property. I walked there - about half a mile - and no problem using Uber to get home. The driver had a newer car with great AC after I worked up a sweat with my hike, and got me home with some nice discussion about how he was training to be a pilot and had the flying down pat but needed to practice English so he could pass the written exams.

I suppose this wouldn't work if you had 2 or 3 heavy suitcases but it's a possible workaround in some instances. My driver said there were strong rumors airport access would be granted by the govt in several months.

In san juan I'vehad a lot of good experiences with uber. Once we had an mlb scout for adriver. If we're staying in the cityit's the preferred way to get around. I've often wondered about the bus as an option to get around the taxi scam. Can you bring bags on the bus?
