Does anyone know the average time it takes to get a tax refund in Puerto Rico?

I left PR 10 years ago, but if I remember correctly, it takes a couple of months.

I finally got it today! Thanks and rep to you Trucker for your referral to the ombudsman program which is how I was finally able to get it.

Anything I can do to help! I'm glad that PR still has an agency that cares for its citizens when they're dealing with the government.

Hi, we are waiting for a tax refund from Puerto Rico, as well. We filed late, but have been waiting for almost 4 months now. Can I have the information for the ombudsman?

We went to the office in person rather than online but I think the link is www.ombudsmanpr.com If you are in Ponce I can give you directions but if you are in another city hopefully this link will enable you to find the office for your locale.

Taxation is the same as on the mainland, same Fed rules and same forms, so as a full time resident (Puerto Ricans are US citizens) the answer would be yes.
