My daughter wants to visit Puerto Rico for Spring Break. She is a senior in High school and I would go with her (mom) and my two sons, age 14 and 9. We have heard that it is beautiful. We would like to spend our days at a beach. We are looking for something not too expensive but close to the beach. Also, is there any area that will be safe and not to far from an airport but maybe a little quieter? We don't want the usual spring break crowd. Any othe traveling adive you can give me would be appreciated! Thanks for your help!

There are very nice beaches in the Cabo Rojo and Rincon areas (west side). I don't know about places to stay though. There is an airport in Aguadilla. I have been told that the best beaches are on the island of Culebra (off the east side).

Wow, that's a lot to ask for. the beach by the Ritz Carlton (Isla Verde) is extremely close to the airport, and not terribly noisy. Up the road there's the beach at condado, still very close to the airport. (Im assuming you're flying into Luiz Muñoz Marín) They're nice beaches, but I would hardly call them secluded. Condado and Isla Verde are relatively safe. PR does have a crime problem, but you'll probably be safer here than other spots during spring break.

Your best bet for quiet beaches would be in Vieques or Culebra, which are a bit far flung (relative to the size of Puerto Rico).

Avoid hitin the beaches on the weekends if you want peace and quiet.
