Hi,

I've told my story before so I don't need to do it again. My appeal hearing is coming up (2-3 weeks) and I have the evidence I need to present my case. One thing I have no idea about is how the hearing will actually proceed. Mine is going to be via the telephone since I'm no longer in the state. Just wondering if someone could shed some light on how things will roll. Thanks again for everyone's help on this site. I'd be a lost cause without it. This is for NEW JERSEY.

Not sure what state you are in. I had an appeal hearing a few years ago, and mine was in person. It was with a judge, but not in a courtroom, but around a conference table. I think the judge was wearing a dark robe, but I don't recall (although that matters not for a phone call hearing). I presented my side and my evidence. The other side had a chance to question what I presented and any witnesses. They then presented their side, and I had the chance to question them. I was sworn in at the beginning, but it was a pretty informal process.
