On occasion I see an individual that "just looks the part" If Hollywood was going to cast the perfect looking person for the job, this person would be it. They fulfill every stereotype of the perfect looking person for the role. The business executive with the strong chin, confident executive manner, in a perfectly fitted suit. Without saying a word this person just seemed like a business executive.

I wonder if these incredibly handsome looking men are ever unemployed for long. If doubt it, because they look the part and they know it.

Or the extremely attractive but professional looking woman of the right age in administrative support. Every executive wants to hire her for his secretary because she just looks the part!

Anyone want to make a stab at the topic of handsome good looks and unemployment?

I'm too handsome to be employed. They can't afford me.

I think good looks can help a lot. But only if it's between multiple qualified people. It is always in your best interest to look your best. As a guy, I put significant effort in having the perfect shave, the custom fitted suit, and polished shoes everytime I go into a meeting. Reality is that your appearance plays a large part on first impressions.

I've been out for a year.

No one will admit it (except perhaps online) but yes it most certainly can and does play a part. That doesn't necessarily mean the hiring people are shallow, it's just human nature that - all other things being equal - we like to be around more attractive people. That doesn't mean some jerk guy or bimbo girl can get whatever job they want though. And the more skill is needed for the position, the less that comes into play.

actually I think when your that good looking and I mean a real real knock out it hurts. People will be intimidated I have seen this. I have a friend who is drop dead beautiful. I mean this women is unbelievable. However she married a rich dude and does not have to work. However I have seen the way people act towards her and let me say they are not too nice (the women). SO it works both ways and if your that and I mean that great it hurts. Its nice to be good looking but when you get into the catagory of drop dead beautiful its a negitive. Check out my friend Patty Matone Zariello on face book you will see what I mean!!!

A man who looks like the perfect business executive and just so handsome has it easier than a beautiful woman job wise.
