so what does that do for us, the change in the election date to replace byrd?
Will delay the next vote because they will not vote until they have Byrd's replacement. Apparently there are issues in WV regarding the "law" with his replacement, all in regards to the special elections, etc, etc, etc.....
That article from The Hill regarding Byrd's replacement was written at 6am this morning. I just watched CBS evening news and Chip Reid reported that the Governor will be appointing a replacement right after Byrd's funeral next week..And this article written at 2:30pm states the same. So we need to do so research on whether he can appoint or not. By the way, CBS's leading story was on the 22 million unemployed Americans and how the Senate went on vacation without extending the deadline. CBS sided with Reid on this one and slammed the Repub's.
Does anyone have any current information on this. Did this get passed before they went on July 4th break? Last nights information was not exactly clear.
The information was crystal clear NO they did not pass it!! The house passed it but the senate did not because 1. Ben Nelson single handedly blocked the bill by voting no. 2. Harry Reid rejected Mitch Mcconnels 2 month extension because it was paid for and if he accepted it that would be a win for the republicans either way 1.7 million unemployed got screwed because of there political games. So i suggest to everyone email, and call BEN NELSON AND HARRY REID and tell them we dont care if it is paid for or not we just want it passed.
