Received my letter today stating that I exhausted all of my benefits. Checked out EDD.CA.GOV and read this updated as of 3/8/11

While the legislation does not add anything further to the current maximum of up to 99 weeks of benefits available, it does add more time for eligible unemployed workers to be able to collect those maximum benefits while trying to secure a new job.

I'm at about 86 weeks and have NOT collected my maximum. Is it the end of the road for me?

It is possible to receive less than 99 weeks. You need to call EDD to determine if your earnings were not sufficient to qualify you for the full 99 weeks.

The statement you cite refers to the eligibility deadlines for the federal unemployment extensions. It simply means that claimants now have a longer period to qualify for the extensions. So you now have up to year-end 2011 to begin the Tiers for which you are eligible.

If you have exhausted all the extensions for which you are eligible, this extended deadline does not affect you.
