Do you feel that you were guilty of simple misconduct? If not, keep claiming benefits and file an appeal. If you win, you'll get paid the 7 weeks, and if not, your benefits will start anyway.

Thank You Chyvan, I am gearing towards not going through with the appeal and just wait out the 7 weeks. Just wanted to make sure that I am not disqualified as a whole for benefits, and am only disqualified for the 7 weeks (punishment) period.

So I called today,,
English was a pain - so i tried Spanish (which I'm fluent) and had a call back in about 2 1/2 hours,

spoke with the woman, explained the situation she pretty much asked me.
1. are you looking for work? Yes I have been looking for full time work - I have a folder with all the acknowledgments from employers for the past 8 weeks.
2. are you in school? Yes I have a class from 6p-10p, however if I find work I am willing to drop the class - which is true a summer II PM class.

she said well your claim has been opened you can start claiming on jul 28 for bi weekly benefits, I asked her how soon can i get the money - she then responded if was really need money I can claim on 7-21 and the money will be in my account by tuesday , she knew my savings acct info.

I'm probably going to claim weekly if thats possible. I have Part Time work which is on Sun/Sat about 14 tops, so when I claim on sunday I'll just notate the weeks worth of work .

Remember Unemployment isn't designed to be a breeze, it's true colors are to benefit the employer and have you suffer for weeks until you can claim, little did they know I actually had a little piggy bank while its starting to get dry this unemp will really help, lol

Thanks Guys!

Thank You Wnyzfinest, and I am glad that UE came through without a hitch for you. Are you in NJ or other states I forgot to ask?

just tried to claim today for last week and got the following error:
"
Your certification cannot be processed.

Please refer to "Telephone Number to Claim Weekly Benefits", provided at:

Department of Labor and Workforce Development | List of Telephone Numbers to Claim Weekly Benefits

Please be sure that you use the exit button to close this application.
"

is this a glitch?
should i call tomorrow?
or simply wait until 7/30 (2-weeks)

I'm guessing you will need to make at least one biweekly claim before NJ will allow you to claim weekly.
