After searching for a job (decent job or any job for that matter) for over two years, I have come to the conclusion that getting a job just plain sucks.
There are so many hoops you have to jump through and it seems like employers are just looking to weed applicants out for any and every reason. What is the sense of applying anymore?
I wish I could just start some type of business and work for myself, but I don't have a lot of money to invest in starting up a business and keeping it running. I also do not want to take out loans and possibly end up in debt.
I know exactly how you feel. I've been taking the temp route myself with so-so success.
Unfortunately, this economy really is "who you know". It makes you look at all of your working friends, especially the ones who've been at the same job for years differently. You suddenly realize none of them have the power to get you work at their company or anyone else's.
