I am a skilled and experienced software developer. I was employed by the city of Jacksonville in the IT department, and while I worked there, I was deceived by my manager and she manipulatively reported my performance giving -ve remarks in my performance records. I was given impossible and unrealistic deadlines and work to complete. I was terminated with no cause from the job, but the employment with the city still haunts me. After I lost the job ,I received unemployment, but I lost all my retirement benefits and my income.

Post News, Psychologists say something scary happens when you're unemployed for a while.

When you have a regular gig, you may occasionally fantasize about quitting or even getting laid off and the freedom that would accompany it.

In lieu of getting jostled by strangers during your daily commute and being chided by your boss for the typos in your latest project report, you could take a leisurely stroll through the park and bake a batch of your favorite cookies.

Hey,

Big question, if I have to leave work for school due to scheduling, am I entitled for benefits? My big thing is, working in particular for a bank, its a bit tougher because the actual institutions hours are shorter than other places. I've been looking for work but can't find any due to the nature of the financial industry, but I can accept work and am available if given a job offer.

However until then, I'm living off my reserve which is running extremely low, any advice? I've heard people lie and get this insurance for even lesser reasons, I'm surprised education isn't placed as a premium, are they afraid of more people returning to school?

318 million live in the U.S. 122 million working full time 91 million people able to work full time can't find jobs 60 thousand factories have closed. Yet uncle SAM says 5% unemployment. Our jobs over seas. Corporate big wigs richer and don't care about U.S. citizens. U.S. Government lies to us and doesn't care about it's people. How about making it right. These facts are on line. Our senators and congressmen bought by corporate America they avoid this area and will talk around it.

I drink coffee at home as much as possible.
A starbucks or something similar, was a daily for me when I was working.

For the past month, I haven't used a car except for once a week.
My mom was borrowing my car.
Even though I will be getting it back shortly, still will resort to not using it as much as possible.

I eat in 90% of the time.
I also used to eat out when I worked, mainly because I was so busy.
But you definitely feel the difference when you don't eat junk food/take out all the time.

I didn't renew my gym membership when it expired-this was the hardest thing. I miss going & I need the workout, but I can work out at home or around the area for now if I need to. I have leaned towards getting it again, just because I feel like I need it for my sanity, (lol) but not sure yet. I want to see how long I can fend it off.

I buy allot less in groceries, too, by cutting out lots of snacks & just trying to get the essentials.
The last to times I went I stayed under $100.
Getting generic cheese SUCKS, but oh well..just for now.
