Had this report come out after Thanksgiving I'd be in Tier 4.
Depends on how their computers are programmed. I would think Tier IV will be removed as an option for anyone who is not yet on it because of the 8.43% rate. "Maybe they didn't do the math" - I doubt that, honestly. They watch those rates very closely.

Better call them tomorrow and get an exact answer so you know what's what.

According to the bls.gov website the numbers are "officially" announced on the 23rd of this month. I would highly recommend calling the UI phone line to see if someone can manually add you onto Tier 4.

This is a good idea.

A Q. Are you exhausting Tier III, this Saturday, November 20th? If so, then you would begin Tier IV on Sunday, November 21st - before the 'official date.'

As of 11/16/2010 the woman at Massachusetts Unemployment Services told me that I had one more week and then I'd roll over into Tier 4. So this Saturday, week ending 11/20/2010 I will officially expire in theory and would start on 11/21/2010 I believe onto Tier 4. Would that mean technically that since it's before 11/23, that I would be eligible? Please, oh please, let this miracle be true.

It looks like you may be able to get state EB - at least a few weeks anyway - up until 12/25

It's something anyway

If MA uses the 11/23 date and if all your Tier III benefits are totally exhausted on Nov. 20th, then you should move to Tier IV on Sunday Nov. 21. Better call tomorrow.

See my post above - you probably won't be eligible to roll into Tier 4 due to the UE rate in MA dropping below 8.5% - at this point it doesn't have anything to do with the extension deadline dates I'm afraid. That's IF MA cuts off Tier 4 as SOON as the UE avg over 3 months drops below the 8.5%.

Poor Hiddeyho - Too Much Information - but she does have options, it appears. If MA pays EB into late December that, at least, almost equals her Tier IV benefits.

Well, Hiddeyho should be glad you picked up on the EB. That is a solid alternative. I was on that MA page but never thought of EB b/c most states aren't paying much past December 4. I knew, but have since forgotten, that MA was cutting off later. Talk about TMI - my brain is quite fried with all the nuances of each of these states. However, for now it is my mental exercise of a sort. hehe
