Quick question, what if I sell an idea for a website for 5 figures paid in a lump sum-but that's it, back to unemployed status. Will this affect my benefits?

Only for the week in which you report those earnings. You can resume UC after that.

I would never do any part time or consulting work while i am on UE... Too much headaches to worry about. Not worth the trouble just because you are eager to get back to work. It must be the right full time job for you to take the job for risking your guaranteed 450 a week. If the company likes you that much they can hire you full time otherwise don't shoot your self in the foot.

The first week is an unpaid waiting week, and the second week would have been 450 - (192*.75) = $306. I say they paid you correctly. Now for my commentary on why people shouldn't think working parttime is a good deal.

Take $144 - substract your full commuting expense (gas, tolls, and wear and tear) - the social security tax on the $192. Then divide that by the number of hours you spent starting from the moment you started getting ready for work until you got home from work. I bet your marginal income was less than $5/hour. Not even minimum wage.
