Default 16 months unemployed despite endless trying

Hello there. My name is Craig and I live in northern Ontario, Canada. I have been unemployed for the last 16 months (I am 27 years of age) and have sent out resumes and cover letters to over 200 companies and applied for dozens of jobs. The competition seems to be so fierce that I struggle just to get interviews.

I have looked everywhere within 400 miles of here in Ontario. I have not really looked outside of Ontario yet but will soon if I cannot find anything (I will look in other provinces - except Quebec - starting in May or June, and in other countries, such as the United States, in 2012 if necessary). Is there a good place I should be looking, as in cities/regions that would be suited for me (in Canada and abroad if necessary)? I am looking for entry-level professional positions.

It has been INCREDIBLY frustrating and I just need advice.

*Craig*

Business degree. Not even interns here, and I can't afford to move to do an internship.

Not true. I've known buddies who have sold their stuff for gas money and 'moved' in their car.

Depends on whatcha want, and how bad.

OP, you'll never land a job just by sending out resumes. You need to hit the pavement and network, make contacts, and work your way into a company. Start developing a network and they will likely help you in your job search.

Not sure what part of northern Ontario you live in but that part of the world has some extremely remote areas, you may have to move to a more populated area where waiting times for a response from an online CV can be minimized by actually going in person to a companies HR Dept.

Actually from doing a bit of online reading about Business degrees it seems that the degree is only a step to viable employment, further schooling maybe required to fully complete your value in the job market.
