Currently coming up on filing for
claims week # 25 & 26.
PA ( state of claim and resident).
Here is my quandry:
On week #25, I completed for hire paper work.
No training or work scheduled on week #25.
come week 26.. They schedule training: 12 hours for the entire week.
So- because I was technically hired week 25, do I lose my last two weeks of claim payments? I received no hours or no income under week 25.
Week 26, 12 hours total training from Sunday-til the following Saturday..
If I file .. How do I answer that I was hired but did not work.. Doesn't that send a red flag as if I simply didn't go to work? I had to wait til the next week when the training group was filled..
Feedback please?
You are not "hired" until you work that first minute. We have enough threads of people that were "hired" and never started working because the employer changed their mind. You act like an unemployed person until you are at work and on the clock getting paid.
For week 25, you were totally unemployed.
For week 26, you report your hours? and earnings, and hope you get a partial benefit.
You're way over thinking things. Just file and collect your money.
Per my employer: Upon implementation of the employee paperwork- IRS Tax form, County tax wage, assignment of Employee # in our system, Your date of hire is: (Insert week #25 date). This will constitute your anniversary date of hire. Refer to your employee handbook for how this will effect your benefits for that calendar year and each year there after.
Your employer's policies have no effect on the way the UI system treats things.
