I was laid off on July 31st due to my position being oursourced to overseas. I was also a full time student while i worked for this company which started in November of last year. I filed for unemployment on Aug 1st, and I was approved for benefits. However, at the same time I was scheduled for Re-employment orientation, and I have to bring my current course schedule and enrollment papers(I wrote on my application that I will be starting classes on Sept 1st). Last week I got my first benefit paycheck. So what I'm wondering at this point is, what can I expect at the Re-employment Orientation? I know that they will be doing some presentations, but are they also going to re-examine my eligibility? According to NJ unemployment website I should be qualified to receive benefits while attending school since I was attending school full time during the base period in which I earned all my income. Please enlighten me on this matter. Also, if anyone who is in the same situation (worked full time and attended school full time during the base period). Were you able to receive benefits even when you continued your schooling after filing for unemployment?
