The transition was seamless. It seems to be more strict as far as job searches but my first search flew through. I doubt California EDD could check every one of the 250K people that collect now anyways.
I'm not proud. It's criminal that educated people over 55 can hardly get an interview let alone get a job!!!
Happy Halloween everybody!

Heck I'm a 37 year old female and for me finding a interview is like finding a unicorn. Knock on wood I have a interview thurs am so Im crossing my fingers.
I don't mean to sound uneducated but what happens when your ca unemployment runs out (Im due to run out 2-12-2012 so I am getting a little frightened. How do you set yourself up for federal can you pm me when you get a chance?
Happy halloween also. I am hoping the dollar store has candy so I can give something out to the kids when they come by. I feel ashamed that I am unable to give out good candy but something is better than nothing.

I'm almost complete with my Fed-ed and I never had to do a work search. The box was always unchecked.

Aquaboy, I'm just finishing Tier 4 and will transition to Fed Ed in a week. I wasn't sure if I would have to call EDD or if the process was seamless. Thanks for the information.

So do you get full 20 weeks?

No. I'll get about 10 weeks. In California, Fed Ed benefits will end Dec. 31st unless Congress votes to extend them. California requires Federal money to continue paying those claims.

I recently exhausted my tier 4 benefits. It's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't received any notice of eligibility for FED-ED benefits. How long did it take for you to receive notice after your tier 4 benefits were up????

pmartich, the transition between tier 4 and EB was exactly like it was between the other tiers. It only took a couple of days for a determination letter followed by a new continued claim form to arrive.

Two weeks is unusual. You really should call EDD and ask them what's going on.

Rapturegal thanks for the reply, I've been trying to call with no luck. I emailed them using the "ask EDD" I'm hoping I get an answer soon. Any other advice on reaching EDD? From what I hear it seems almost impossible. My last resort will be to mail them a letter.
