Perhaps it would be helpful to the unemployed to make a list of employers so desperate that they will hire anyone?

I know ValueOptions in Albany, NY is chronically understaffed and will take just about anyone. It's not a great job but if you're desperate they will likely take you. It's a national company, but I don't know if their other branches are as desperate.

I think Kmart will take anyone who applies, because the turnover rate is so high. Just go for part-time work and be prepared to work any shift that they give you. Even if you get that job, I'd keep looking for something else in the meantime.

Any MLM companies. Vector Marketing is a classic one.

You're essentially working for free, why wouldn't they hire you?

Not true. I've applied and won't get hired because I never had any telemarketing experience I guess... Which sucks. How am I to get experience if I can't get hired!

You have to be referred to a telemarketing job from a temp agency. That's how I got my telemarketing job

I'm beginning to think that I will have to try and go to a temp agency, because I'm getting a few interviews with no job offers. It's so disheartening...

That's a generalization which not only makes no sense but is completely untrue. Hundreds of thousands of telemarketing jobs are advertised on the open market and not through temp agencies. Just because that's how you landed a position with one of them doesn't make it a fact.
