It was something else. The behavior of the manager (who did get demoted right when I called HR to let them know I was on vacation) is helping prove the rest of the case. I am hoping it goes well too. First time I had ever been fired too, although as I do terminate people and hire them for a living, it was in a way a positive as now I know how it feels and I know firsthand the questions in the person's mind.

My advice, for what it is worth...I would say "New mangement took over and instead of seeking out their insights into my performance, I went with what had gotten me exceptional reviews in the past. Unfortunately, the new management were looking to move in a different direction" It gets your fault (not asking) your performance (good reviews) and really only sort of says negative, as you reinforce their right to go in a different direction.

I bet the manager is kicking herself for doing what she did. If the case goes well, will you be able to get your job back?

I like that. It's professional and like you said, it hits all the points in a neutral way. Thanks!

(Yes, that does mean I am going to commit it to memory lol)

Aye. I just came from the job section at Craigslist. It's already shaping up to look like a Saturday or Sunday in terms of job postings. I'm extremely lucky if I'll be able to apply for one job off Craigslist today.

You got that right. I'm definitely NOT going to disagree with you.

Yes I'm treating today like Sunday and not going anywhere near a job site-lol Anytime people are still on the beach it definitely no reason for me to check job sites. Now July 4th is on a wednesday this year which means that it will be a one day week, maybe two because not many people will be working after wednesday. Hopefully I;m working by then because that will be a disaster
