I was new to this site, looking for some advice on dealing with the CA unemployment office when I saw your post. After reading it, I couldn't believe you got fired for a 53 cent biscuit! I read the other posts about how it's technically theft, but come on! Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. Having worked in food service myself, I know how crazy hectic it can be, and how managers can often use their discretion when consuming food on the clock. It just seems a little excessive to me. Good luck to you at the hearing, hopefully you get a favorable decision.

Well, first you have to win your case. Keep claiming and appealing. If a decision goes your way, you get UE from the date you filed your claim until you stop claiming.
