Hello all,
I just claimed my last two weeks of tier 3 in Michigan. I know Tier 4 goes by the three month unemployment average, but I'm not sure if I trigger to Tier 4 as of Monday when I claimed or when I should claim next.

My benefit year end date is April 20th, so I should have 4 weeks left if I am able for tier 4.

What did you do when you transitioned to Tiers 2 and 3? Do the same, now. Exhaustion of Tier 3 should automatically transition you to Tier 4. However, as I recall, MI people have been calling their UE offices whenever they are eligible for a new tier. Most states transition people automatically.

Yeah I have had to call every time I transitioned tiers. I just wanted to know it Tier 4 is triggered on and if ill get that 4 weeks.

Also, once I run out of tier 4 I'm done with all benefits correct? There is absolutely no work around here and I cant afford to move. I apply to at least 7-10 places a week..this is crazy.. no call backs.

MI is still triggered on to Tier 4. If you exhausted Tier 3 last week, you are eligible for Tier 4. Tier 4 is paying 39% of 20 weeks, or a maximum of 7.8 weeks, assuming you had a full claim of 20 weeks. After you reach your benefit year end in April, you recertify the claim and continue to exhaust Tier 4. Keep in mind, with the sequester, beginning in April those weekly benefits will be reduced about 11%.

There are no further benefits after you exhaust Tier 4, sorry to say.

Sounds like you can't afford not to move. You know ND is having an oil boom, people are getting pretty good jobs there. Climate similar to MI and not that far away.
