"During Wednesday’s session, cloture was filed on the motion to proceed to H.R.3979, the legislative vehicle for the Unemployment Insurance Compensation Extension".
The ending of unemployment payments to millionaires/billionaires was kept, even though the states letter had indicated and J Boehner expressed it would be hard to implement - see Sec. 7.

Not only will it be difficult to implement (income verification requires IRS data, which is separate and distinct from UE data), but this is a red herring because it only affects an estimated 0.03 percent of all UE claims.

Thank you for those links, Oceanglow.
I saw N Pelosi at a recent briefing discuss that a simple form could be created where the claimant could attest to his/her income (to assist with income verification). Of course measures are in place to obtain/verify that information (which is a little time consuming), but having the form won't hold back the process.
From Politicususa.com
"NASWA is now working with senators on making technical tweaks to the legislation to ease states’ worries over implementation".
"As I have advocated, this bill contains no cuts to the weeks of benefits available or the structure of the tiers of benefits, nor does it include other problematic policy changes. It is, however, fully paid for and includes some positive reforms that better align the unemployment insurance and work force systems to help get people back to work sooner. It also includes language that my colleagues on the other side of the aisle sought and previously have -- we've passed in the senate 100-0, which would prohibit millionaires from receiving federal emergency benefits".
10 Republican Senators joined the Democrats to vote yes on renewing UE. Senators voted 65 to 34 to proceed to debate on the bill, ensuring it will pass easily at some point next week. - Final vote possibly next week. For final vote, it only needs a majority of 51 votes to pass.
All 55 members of the Senate Democratic caucus voted to proceed as well as 10 Republicans -- Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Dan Coats (R-Ind.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Patrick Toomey (R-Pa.).
From Sen Reed:-
"Senate just voted 65-34 to advance #RenewUI. More work to do, but relief now 1 step closer. Thx to @SenDeanHeller & our bipartisan partners"!
