Are you kidding me? I thought this was taken care of. I seriously think we need to boot everyone out of the government and start over with a Parliamentary style government that includes more than just 2 parties. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

Job growth comes in lower than expected; unemployment rate falls - NBC News.com
And when next months report comes out the unemployment rate will drop again as a result of 1.3+ million people losing benefits and that will be declared a victory on unemployment. The system of counting unemployed people is such a fraud.

Also, don't forget your local churches. Ours saved us from ruin until hubby's disability was approved after his UE ran out.

Yes, it will drop even when you consider all those seasonal jobs that have been lost. 74,000 new jobs! Our business sector should be ashamed of themselves!

Frankly, I am not sure anymore what they do in Washington. This might have something to do with the debt ceiling (which used to be a routine vote) I am just thinking there is only a finite amount of time, and if you BS around with stupid stuff.....well

No. Sixteen weeks were lost from Tiers 1 and 2. NO CHANGE for Tiers 3 and 4. At least, for now under the current proposal.

I'm guessing nothing happened today? I was out all day --- no one is hiring

Do they work over the weekends? Or do we have to wait for Monday to HOPE they do something?

From what I read online so far is that the few senate repubs that were in favor of the bill are backing out because they want amendments attached to the bill.

Meanwhile the jobs reports news came out today saying

Hiring slumped sharply in December, as the economy added only 74,000 jobs, according to the government. This was the weakest month for job growth since January 2011 and came as a huge surprise to economists, who were expecting an addition of 193,000 jobs.

There was some progress made behind the scenes. Senator Reid says he is now open to at least discussing amendments:
