Cory Booker is talking about unemployment insurance on C-Span2. New Jersey has one of the highest rates in the country of long-term unemployed.

I like what he's saying but he would do much better just saying it, not reading it.

I hope it does. He's definitely making good points!

He started out rough which happens when you read a speech off paper but he eventually found his groove. The key for us was when he admitted that they tried to get the republicans to go along but so far we have no agreement . Meaning they still need the 2-3 votes . Sounds like we are still where we were 3 weeks ago. Lets see how tomorrow goes.

They all read their speeches. And most have charts.

Well at least its a good sign they are talking about it again. This whole ordeal has been so frustrating.

EXACTLY! And the only chart he had up was the percentage of unemployed people over the years showing it's at its highest now. He covered EVERY single topic we have been talking about and backed it up with very good examples from history and from the present. I think he was awesome and that was the first time he was speaking before the Senate. You can tell he truly means what he says and that's rare coming from a politician.

I'm responding to you because if I responded to Amisi after his comment I would have lost my mind. To complain that he has a written speech and a chart over amazing content and delivery is beyond absurd.

The Senate just adjourned for the day with no action on the EUC extension. We'll have to see what happens Tuesday Feb. 4th.

They gave the schedule for tomorrow before they left and nothing about unemployment. There definitely is no vote otherwise it would have to be scheduled. They are working on the farm bill again tomorrow they said..
