After 12 weeks of collecting unemployment, I have been solicited for additional fact finding due to voluntary termination. This is untrue; I did not voluntarily quit my job. Isn't this something that should have been assessed when they first reviewed my claim? Why is it just now, after 12 weeks of approved benefits, being issued?

Most likely challenged by your employer. Just tell them what they need to know and that's it.

They say I will be fined 4 x [my received benefit] if I am found guilty. I am afraid to keep collecting benefits. Currently I would already owe them over $12,000!. What should I do?

Keep collecting.

You might have not quit the job you are collecting against, but did you do what some people do and get a new job, work there for a fex hours, decide it's not for you, then never report it to UI, and keep on filing?

No, I did not. I don't understand how the company can come back 12 weeks later and change their opinion about how I was terminated. Didn't unemployment confer with them on this point before approving my claim?

Employers contest claims sometimes a year after the fact. They're just getting around to it now. The UE offices allow employers to do this but, heaven forbid, you're late filing an appeal request, you lose your appeal rights.

The system is skewed to favor the employer. That's just the way it is. Employers pay these benefits, therefore, the employer is favored.

State License Search - What you need to do if you disagree with a determination

This page says that an employer/employee has 30 days to request a redetermination after notice of the initial determination.

It seems the employer met that requirement.

You could have been collecting for weeks before they even sent the notice to the employer; and, it could be weeks before they even got around to the employers notice of contesting the claim they sent back in time; and it could be weeks before they send you something. Unemployment does not always process everything one behind the other all within a day time frame.
