I am having the same issues Steve, I called the governors office to complain this is just ridiculous! I hate how it just hangs up on you like you don't ****ing matter! You need to employ more people to take the heavy call volume there are people out there needing work in this state right...****ing hire them then!!! I even live and worked in Ohio but had to get tied to Michgan unemployment due to me opening a previous claim int he same year. However when you call Ohio unemployment it works you can reach someone any day of the week between normal business hours. This is nuts!! FIX THIS ****!!!!
I'm getting vert frustrated I can't get through to the hotline to talk to someone they keep saying high call volume I don't know what to do feel like I'm not going to collect my claims to Marvin someone please help me
When I worked at Michigan UIA back when Jennifer Granholm was Governor, she was very sympathetic to the people who were laid off for no fault of their own. In all departments we were scolded if a claimant had to wait on hold on the phone
for 5 minutes!!!
Then when Rick Snyder got elected, word from many State employees including management was that him and his administration looked at the unemployed as the scum of the earth. Lazy bastards. Getting free money they don't deserve.
A conservative philosophy.
Since then, the UIA has made it very, very hard for claimants to get assistance.
Hopefully, things will change.
