Lets hope this indeed happens on Monday. It says at 5:30 there will be at least 2 roll call votes..but 4 items are listed. And of course H.R. 3979 (the EUC vehicle) is listed last.

It says there will be a possible voice vote. Anyone know what this is (aside from the obvious)?

Didn't someone say on the other thread that states weren't keeping tabs or perhaps it was reporting UI numbers? Well that article explains why no one in NJ can find a job. If they have their UI percent then wouldn't other states too? Just asking for the tiers because I think that same poster said not having the percentages would be another obstacle to figuring out the tiers.

Hey ya'all , see a new thread is open. Lets keep any political stuff out of this.

Here is the definition of voice vote in the Senate

A voice vote occurs when the presiding officer states the question, then asks those in favor to say "yea" and those against to say "no." The presiding officer announces the results according to his or her best judgment. In a voice vote, the names of the senators and the tally of votes are not recorded.

They did the Voice Vote in the House yesterday for the Doc Fix Bill. Basically the question is asked if you are in favor say YEA and if not say NAY and the Presiding officer tries to figure out which is the louder option. There is no vote tally and no one is counted. Not sure if this is a way around the Debate period. I dont know enough about the option but looking forward to seeing it in action.

I saw that yesterday and was wondering what that was all about. I hope that's what he's trying to do - I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Glad to see you found us!

Jack Reed tweeted the steps to get to the final vote for the EUC and they will not have a final vote until Thursday at the Earliest but thats in question. . You can go to his twitter account to see it , here is a shortcut

Basically he said they will have a voice vote on Monday and they will then file Cloture after that and then the 30 hours of Debate and they hope to have the final vote by Thursday April 3rd but he ddint sound positive and said they may have to work the weekend to get it done .

So to me sounds like its probally not this week unless they work the weekend. It will eventualyl get done but will never get to the House before the Spring Break so its going to be May for the House.

Oh, come on already! Then why the voice vote? Sounds like they're still doing everything else as it would be. This is getting ridiculous. It will NEVER pass the House in May - it ends in May!!!!!

Well maybe then the House will make it a year extension since otherwise it would end practically at the same time it was implemented. let's hope so anyway.
