Hi guys, I was terminated due to not having my internet service up and running within 72 hours, I moved to another city, and was told that my cable/internet equipment would be shipped to me, the representative ran my new address told me that Comcast lines are already there, and all I had to do was plug in and call for activation, not the case......scheduled tech to come out, he came in stating "I only have a certain amount of time for this job then I have to leave" that let me knew we would have problems, after he claimed to be checking the lines for signal, he said he could not find any and outside wiring specialist would have to come out in 24 to 48 hours, they could not come sooner.

The outside wire technician is not permitted to enter home, so I scheduled appointment for a inside technician to come out to reassure my service was working on the inside once the outside technician completed his job. The technician who originally came out had he done his job, I would have had my service up and running in 24 hours. So the outside tech is scheduled for Thursday which is outside of my deadline, on Thursday the outside technician cancel saying Comcast is not in charge of their scheduling, and they had no right to schedule them, and they would come out on Friday, spoke with managers, still the same results....decide to keep the appointment for inside technician to come out.....he found signal and got my service running, so the first rep just didn't want to do his job, and cost me my job.

I was told I was terminated for that, but spoke with person who is the go between employees and management, my manager lied and said I was using internet at public place and violated company policy, that is untrue, I plugged my desktop computer up at my mothers home and used her cricket internet, but the upload speed was not sufficient I was able to work 2 hours, was in contact with my manager throughout this ordeal.

I received a notice in the mail saying, a question has been raised regarding your eligibility...misconduct in question, my interview is scheduled for 9/9/2014 at 10:45am, I certified for benefits on Monday, and received a benefit payment explanation letter, saying : your payment was withheld for the following reason: you have been found ineligible for benefits. Refer to your adjudicators determination for the issue, and sections of Illinois Unemployment Insurance Act, my question is how can I be determined ineligible without having my interview, and I haven't received a adjudication letter saying why I am ineligible, there is not code listed so I can look this up, has anyone had experience with this before, I am very confused, and my interview is 9/9.

What did you tell UI the reason was when you applied?

As for the determination vs interview, call today just to see if the interview was really cancelled. If not, start getting ready.

I don't like either yours or your employer's version, but I like yours less. Simply because your version has just a little too much "fault" that has nothing to do with your employer.

Since you were told one thing and someone told you something else try really hard to tell the adjudicator that you're just not sure. If they press, go with the employer's version but really sell the idea that you had no idea that a Cricket IP address would be considered a public connection when you were in your mother's home. Leave out the part about only working two hours. You want to make it look like the employer misinterpreted things and that your blameless because of ignorance.

Then if the employer goes with that version as well there is probably just enough to sell still if you end up having to appeal, or you just might have a good adjudicator that sees things your "new" way.
