Hi timberline, Well I was not on salary.. I was talking about an hourly wage job. The field I'm in is a skilled physical trade that doesn't have salary positions. We are on our feet all day and working with and on equipment, So yes the physical exhaustion and wear & tear on your body is very real. The physical injuries that happen are real. And when you are working in a state of exhaustion, accidents become more common. So, it sounds like none of this stuff applies to your experience..
So yes it absolutely is about being unsafe. AND about not being compensated fairly. Really, it's about both. I guess the logic is- if you want to work us to physical exhaustion and beyond, then at least compensate us for it. (especially when we were told at hiring that we got OT!) So yes there are several different issues going on here that all overlap. (plus the rules say we're not supposed to split different issues up into different threads, in the same conversation...)
Not sure what you mean by that, convex.. But thanks anyway.
Was just trying to clarify for timberline.
Anyone who might have helpful comments, feel free to post.
Chyvan, thanks for the link, I was already looking at that so we're on the same page...
