Hello everyone! I am currently collecting unemployment benefits while on a temporary layoff. I work for scotts lawn service and was laid off October 30th and will start in mid to late February. So far i have attended two REA appointments. One at the end of November and one at the end of December. My question is has anyone had experience attending a third appointment in ny? How far apart is it from the second one and what do they do? Im hoping to be back at work before the third one. Im confused because they are making me do work searches and the other guys i work with dont have to and they have been there longer. Technically i am a full time seasonal employee with full benefits and everything even while im laid off. This is my first season claiming unemployment. I just dont think it makes sense to find another full time job and then quit in a month to go back to scotts. Any information or past experiences would be appreciated thanks!

^U dont have to TAKE a Full-Time job, u have to APPLY for them. -Wink-. Apply for jobs online that u don't think that u will reasonably get. Apply, and put $20 per Hour for "Salary desired". Chances are nobody will call u back, but u "applied". And apply for more than the required amount (for me it's 4 Weekly), so in case, by some off chance someone DOES call u with an offer, u can just list someone else for your Weekly searches. At least here in ND, we have to enter our 4 searches (either online or on paper) Monthly, so I apply for jobs, asking for High Salaries, they never call me back, but I have something to list.
Wink. I think you got it.
