Hey all
I filed for unemployment the 30th of july. I received all my papers in the mail on August 8th. I was double checking everything and I noticed one of my lowest quarters is the wrong amount. its off by 59.58. Except this doesn't effect my maximum benefit amount. So would it matter if i report this mistake since it is my lowest wages for the quarter ending??? the only thing I see that it is effecting my total wages. This is my first time doing this unemployment stuff so im unsure about a lot of things.

thnx

If you are getting max benefit of $450/wk for the max of 26 weeks, then you can ignore it if you want. I would only suggest someone do the work if it was going to put something extra in your pocket.

Same concept. Unless you can increase your high wage quarter or have a different quarter be the new high wage quarter, then it really makes no difference.

Did you need to provide paystubs for that lower quarter? Otherwise, your claim is based on wages appearing in the CA database. It's possible the money is reflected in a subsequent quarter. You would have to prove to CA its database is wrong. Further, only 50% of that amount - $29.79 - is used when calculating weeks paid. If you're already getting 26 weeks' benefits, it doesn't matter. Otherwise, if you're getting less than 26 weeks which might include a partial week, you could collect the remaining $29.79, but first you'd have to prove the difference. It's a nonissue, in my opinion.
