Hello,

I have recently reached the end of my UI claims period, but ended up filing for benefits out of habit one week beyond the end of the eligible period. To my surprise, the benefits were deposited into my checking account as per usual.

I double-checked my original benefits determination letter and this most recent payment definitely puts me over that initial awarded amount.

Will I be asked to return this extra payment? Also, is there any harm in continuing to file for benefits even though mine are technically exhausted? I'm not trying to milk the system - I'm just genuinely having trouble finding work because I am pregnant and every interviewer I meet with seems less than pleased when they see my current physical state.

I appreciate any advice you have!

I think you should check again. The UI people do NOT release money by mistake because they know hard it is to get it back.

Yes, if you keep filing and they keep paying you, then chances are the money is yours.
