It would appear that your base year wages are below $14400. Check your State benefit determination for the correct figure. Your EUC benefit determination has instructions on how to appeal their decision. Don't know if it would go anywhere, looking at the qualifications they are asking for. You have nothing to lose by trying though. Good luck, and if you learn anything that could help others in a similar situation, please post it.

Who said it was your fault?
EUC Tier II (up to 14 weeks)
must be exhausted by week ending Saturday, February 27, 2010 to be eligible for EUC Tier III

You really need to find out your claim status (benefit year start date). You have this weird 2008 thing happening...and I am stumped.
Hi wannabe,

thank you for your reply. Well I did call and they said I didn't exhaust my 2008 claim with the tier II...I was real stumped because, I thought if you are able to file a new claim you can't go on extensions...

all the unemployment person said was that i didn't exhaust 2008, and that when all the extensions are over that's when we stop getting funds...she didn't mention anything about the end of Feb. deadline...

I had someone else I used to work with, and she had called up as well and got a similar response, except the unemployment person said that she would be going on the EB funding...

I have the opportunity to start a 3 month full-time temporary position but am curious if I will be able to continue claiming my unemployment benefits after this 3 month position. Does anyone know how this works?? It is for less than what I would be receiving in unemployment.

If this is on your original unemployment benefits, just keep claiming while you are working and report your earnings..In three months when you stop working, your benefits will continue. The important thing is to keep your claim open by reporting on the specified day you report on now....Hope this helps.

I am so confused by this. I am on my 1st claim which is about to exhaust. I was getting the same amount in the check throughout the entire run, and now have 336 dollars left. This is nowhere near what I get biweekly. I have not recieved a letter for extension yet. Everything i have searched for so far has shown that if you run out after feb 10 you do not qualify for extension. Does this mean I am not eligible for an extension, can no longer pay rent, put food on the table, and keep a roof over my wife and childrens head, and send out countless resumes that do not yeild a single interview? I am so confused. Does this really single out and punish people who's benefits run out later than Feb. 10?

All Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) Tier eligibility cut-off dates were extended to April 5 from Feb. 28. Inasmuch the tier eligibility has been extended to April 5 and inasmuch as you are on your first claim and have not yet begun a tier, you should be eligible for the tier program when your current benefits are exhausted. Some states automatically move you into the tiers, others require you to call. Don't know where you are getting the Feb. 10 date from your research - that date is not relevant to any of the current programs.

Just FYI: the eligibility date for moving from regular benefits to Tier I is -- and has always been -- one week earlier than moving from Tier to Tier once you are in the EUC Tier system.

Anyone who has not yet begun collecting EUC Tier I has until March 28, 2010, to start Tier I. Anyone already in the EUC Tier system has until April 5 to move to the next Tier.
