Win lawsuit settlement while collecting Unemployment benefits, must the settlement be reported to Unemployment Agency?
I took legal action against a former employer, because they were not paying overtime for the past years.
How this effects Unemployment benefits?

I think they are unrellated and don't believe you even have to disclose that information. What you have to report are Wages. The settlement is not considered wages.
You may want to double check but I sincerely doubt it. That would be like having to report lottery or gambling winnings. It's unrelated to your employment status so it shouldn't effect.

I believe that a settlement for overtime wages WOULD be considered wages... It's monies owed to a person for work they performed... I may be wrong on that but having experience in the unemployment field, it seems that this would be considered money paid to an employee for work performed...
Is there a reason you've resurrected a 2009 thread and question? Welcome to the board, but, just curious - how did you find this thread on which to post?
