yes and it's terrible. The government doesn't care about us either. Thank God for those who did get their benefits. Because you try and get employment and end up in another state due to lack of work in the one you are in they penalize you. I have written the Governor of both GA and NC about this. My husband saw a man eating a sandwich yesterday that he got out of a trash can. I can't believe they are turning their back on us.

They said I should have stayed there and worked and let him move here. Who condones leaving your spouse?? Do they not know that these are bad economic times? I wrote the Governor and Commissioner Brown again. The people I spoke to Janda, Randy, etc. did do a good job and got my information rushed through to get a call today though so at least I know now.
Did your husband get transferred? I know that if you move to GA from CA because your husband got transferred, California will pay you unemployment. Not sure how NC works, but will do some research for you. If he quit his job, and you moved here I think that changes everything.

Default where are Georgia's SEB payments?

I bet if someone called one of the Atlanta TV stations, that they would be more than happy to investigate the status of Georgia's promised SEB payments...

Yes, he quit because he wasn't getting any work and if we didn't do something we would have starved so he applied for another job that was hiring for his type of position and it happened to be in GA. We had to break our lease and move but because of the economy we didn't have to pay a penalty for breaking the lease, thank God.

I thought the same thing Elle, the AJC has been contacted, Fox News, we have written to the governor, the DOL commissioner, state representatives, NELP, and the president. So far nobody finds it newsworthy, or in need of a response, let alone an investigation.

HI!! WE missed you. My claim was finally processed, and the funds went into my account today!!! I think that there are still a lot of loose ends, new faces that still have not received their benefits. I have been busy painting the new house that we are going to rent. (actually an old house that was built in 1918...cute as can be) Trying to get some sweat equity in lieu of rent. I have some interesting prospects for odd jobs. Hopefully they will work out!!

If there are contacts for the media that folks can provide I will be MORE than happy to do the same and get my mother on to do the same. (I am 36, but she's still my mom!). I agree THERE IS NO EXPOSURE TO what is going on with the little people. Please provide and I will do the same. Phone calls made for me again 2 day, and no answers but I kept trying. BUT I got another copy of my Money Determination letter today that was dated 6/16--still states SEB ISSUE. So for whatever reason they sent it out again as if I didn't get before, gee thanks. Not sure if it was because I duplicated my SEB application from last weekend, or because I went into an office on Tuesday. Gonna have to go back, and this time talk to an actual counselor, and see what is up.
