Hello All,

I have been looking diligently at many past posts (in the huge forum for NJ UI ...I had posted this question there but it appeard to be off topic so I am pasting it here -thanks SHILZZ), there still seems to be a question regarding those whose EB run out after the 1st of Jan 2010 I am in that boat. I posted this question a while back... there was an opinion that the AP was feeding local newspapers with inaccurate info regarding this subject...I am back to worrying I won't qualify.

I am currently enrolled in an approved PIC/ NJ UI retraining program (nursing). My program has very strict performance standards, typically half the class is dismissed for not keeping grades high enough, major exam Monday I have no time for anything but study, I need to complete this course. Sorry, not enough time to look at every post or monitor this great site on a constant basis.

So is there a consensus? If your Emergency benefits (those after the teir 1 and 2) run out in early 2010 do you qualify for the extra 20 weeks (NJ).

Thanks very much

ctcpete...if you are enrolled in state approved training..you should qualify for ABT benefits which pays up to 26 weeks.talk to your one stop counselor..however you must use up all your other extensions first(if you indeed qualified)so if there is any BS about qualifying for EB and what not ask one stop about ABT you should at least get that

Good question I would like to know that myself. NELP says they will be adding a F.A.Q. in the next couple of days that may answer many of those questions.

I hope I don't get too many people upset but asking this question, but I can't seem to find an answer on NJDOL site. My tier 1 runs out with a check I get on Dec 12. I assume, I will then go into tier 2 which will take me till March 2010. God forbid, if I am still out of work then, and the extensions aren't moved to 2010, will I still get Tier 3 but no EB? Thanks

I am a similar situation. I am on tier 1 now, which I believe is ending Dec, 19th or 20th. If I should not find work, will I be eligible for other extensions? My benefit year also expires on Jan. 30, 2010. What can I expect? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As of right now (except for EB because it just is not clear) people can't start a new tier in 2010 unless the laws are changed. the only exception seems to be Tier 4 (6 weeks) and that is only based on NELP's press release saying it would be "Grandfathered" in

Are there any bills out there to extend into 2010? What can we do? I am sure that there are many out there that will no be able to find employment and need more extensions. I might be one of them.
