OK, I did the leg work and dug through this thread from the beginning. I found the instructions for getting through on the Vietnamese EDD number here.

I just attempted the Vietnamese line trick and they said that they were not allowed to transfer callers to the English line. Anyone else get that, or should I just try again?

They don't transfer callers, they help you themselves.

Is this basically just a matter of the luck-of-the-draw in terms of operators? The one I got when I got through was pretty blunt about not being able to help me.

Thanks to this thread, I think too many are using the Vietnamese line and they've wised up, so aren't willing to be helpful anymore. Probably not used to the workload.

I am inclined to agree. Especially as the not helping and not transferring response seems to be new. That said, could have been a particular rep and not an overall change to their response on that line.

JMIRA's method still works, I just did it today! I never thought I'd be so happy to hear hold music!

Hmm, I just tried it and it didn't work. So, you press 1 for English, wait through the entire extended benefits message (SO ANNOYING), then hit 1-3-0 without waiting for the guy to talk? Or hit 1 to go to the next menu, then 3, then 0? I get a "Please enter a valid selection or you'll be disconnected!" message either way. Can you let me know what worked for you and how fast you hit the code?
