No, I used 5-5-1-0. Worked like a charm.

It's going to be very difficult to get through now as they are only accepting phone calls from 8am - 12 Monday thru Friday.

An update from the battlefield:
I have started to call the usual number without any tricks at 08:00 and was able to get on the waiting line at 8:40 and to get a very professional and polite gentlemen at 8:45.
So maybe I was unusually lucky, or something has improved there.

I have called edd three times in a row, as soon as their stupid
recording is done, 5510 is pushed instantly, hasn't failed yet.! Max 1-2 minute wait.

However, the bastards at disability are a completely diff story. Some rude B!?;"
answers, good lawd woman so SORRY I ruined your morning.

Have had nothing but nice nice at EDD, disab, well she just HUNG UP on me, and I was courteous, and had the audacity to ask a simple question.

I called again, and got a kind gentleman who helped me out.

These state employees are PISSED because of the sequester, their hours are slashed, hey, welcome
to our world, try doing it for 99 weeks. CA is jacked up

I tried all of these tips and none worked for me.
Here is some great news

If your trying to re-open your claim from out of state. This will... WILL work. And a hella lot faster than the phone BS. I dug deep into their website and found what did work for me.

Copy and paste this in the address bar at the top of this screen. Or click it....
http://www.edd.ca.gov/pdf_pub_ctr/de1101i.pdf

( I saved you guys a lot of time. Its like ..... not meant to be found. I cant believe how f**ked up CA is with this!!!! It took me 2 months of digging for anything to get my husbands UE claim re-opened. And boy, did they have it hidden!!!! )

So, thats what you need. print it out and fax it in. Fill it out completely!!!!

We got a letter back confirming they got it and gave us the chance to change anything. If we dont respond, they will take the info it as is. I faxed it on 5/31/13 at 4:50 pm. and I got a response back on 6/4 and monday was a holiday. Thats pretty quick.

Then I called the dreaded number and filed his claim for this past week. I also logged in to webcart ....
https://cccwpd.edd.ca.gov/Security/L...2fdefault.aspx and got all the info on his claim. He's getting it all the way back to 3/25/13
Hope this helped

Default Is 18 months+ a reason to terminate benefits

I experienced the same problem.
Got notification that balance is 0.
It advised me that I should call the unemployment office (which is impossible), or file online.
Filing online is also impossible, can not go past page 5, which is asking for wages in 2012, but I didn't have any. (Last date of work was Nov 2011, about 18 months ago.)
Any help will be appreciated.

Default Probably the best way to fax it

http://www.edd.ca.gov/pdf_pub_ctr/de1101i.pdf
is a fillable pdf form, I will try to fill out and fax it, at least it doesn't "stop" me anywhere.
Then we will see what happens.

I used the 5-1-1-0 trick and got through today. Very relieved after trying 13227 all this week.
