According to the data on the NYS Labor site, I should qualify for 20 weeks of Tier 1 benefits since my original claim effective date was in March 2009.

However, the remaining balance indicates the money will run out after only 13 additional weeks (on top of the 26).

The only thing that makes my case special is that I worked for only four months at my job and barely qualified for UI, so I have technically received more money on unemployment than I earned working. But I haven't read anything that says this would reduce my benefits.

I have claimed benefits every week. I used the alternate base period to determine my amount.

Should I do anything? Will the extra 7 weeks appear after I finish the 13 weeks? (like the extra tiers appear after finishing the previous ones)?.

Help!

Default Tier 1 after NY EB?

I have the same situation. My start date was Aug 09, I exhausted regular benefits the end of January, 2010 and started the 13 weeks of EB. I understand from this thread that the additional 7 weeks will be added once I exhaust the 13, but once the 7 are exhausted, will the federal Tier 1 then kick in? The 7 weeks will be exhausted around June 30, 2010. Thanks for the information!
