Today I filed my bi-weekly claim which exhausted my benefits on my original claim - I only received payment for 1 week (w/e 8/4) instead of the 2 weeks as that was all that was left in the claim.

At the end of filing I received the notice that benefits were exhausted and didn't see anything about transitioning over to EUC Tier 1. I guess my question is will the transition to EUC Tier 1 happen automatically and should I just continue to claim bi-weekly or will I receive some type of notification in the mail? I have tried calling the NJ unemployment office with no success.

And will I be SOL for the payment week ending 8/11 since there wasn't enough money in the original claim to cover both weeks?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Default NJ REA Mandatory Appearance.

I applied for UI 8/7/11. When 26 weeks ran out I received the Extension I guess EUC I. 20 Weeks go by I receive the letter you have exhausted your benefits, but you are eligible for an additional extension. I receive EUC II 14 weeks as of July 8, 2012. Apparently the only difference is the job search requirement. I certify for the next 4 weeks with no problem. Last Wednesday I receive a letter telling me that I have to report to REA on August 21 and to fill out the attached job search paperwork and bring it with me. Today 8/12/2012 I try to certify for the past two weeks of job search and unemployment and the website tells me I have exhausted my claim. Do I fill a new claim? Go to the REA and they file the new/extended claim? try and call the LWD and file for an extension? or Because I am scheduled for REA has my claim been placed on hold to see if I appear?

I have 1 week left in my 26 weeks. I am wondering what happens when I certify next Sunday for the previous two weeks? I am in NJ. Do I automatically move to tier 1 EUC?

Will I get paid only for the 1 week I have remaining? Or will I get 1 week of the state unemployment and 1 week of EUC Tier 1?

I have been trying to spend the weekdays working on my job search because that's most important, but I am a little bit nervous.

I have been reading though the boards, but with the things changing up in September, its all gotten a little bit confusing.

There is nothing to worry about. NJ will simply file your papers for continuation automatically. They did this for me. There was a break but it all started again with no issues.
