I found this in the back of an astrology book of mine one day. Oddly, I had never seen this page before until earlier this year. I was so moved that I wrote it down myself. This is what was written:

When you say 'readings done over the internet', I assume you are speaking of computer generated?
Anything can be used to receive a message. Have you ever asked for 'a sign' and got it?
I have tried a few of those computer generated readings and they tend to be helpful. But they can be limiting in that some do not use a full deck, some are weak in descriptions, so only those who are familiar with tarot or have a more developed intuition get a true feeling for the message. They do the job well enough, but is nothing like a reading done with a tangible deck.

D217~ that is awesome that you handwrote that out.
Linda goes even deeper into Spirit for she ventures into the area of Universal Law, which encompasses natural law and laws of physics, etc. She speaks of the powers we have, the manifestation and reality that is....and writing, with your hand with a pen and paper is just another manner of building that Power.
In these days of computers, we write less.
As mentioned in my previous post, nothing like a reading with a tangible deck.
The physical motions are needed, shuffling or writing or a spiral dance....the act of using the physical body assists in our focus, intent and connection.
Now you may say, 'typing is a physical motion' - sure it is, but how many different motions in typing are there, compare those to when something is hand written. It's a lot more work to write by hand than to type....cause and effect as Linda mentions.

KsStorm- let us know when you have your deck in hand. Maybe once some get decks and others dust their's off....we will play some card games!

I have a few of her books, always good reads! That excerpt was borrowed from Linda Goodman's "Love Signs". It's hard to believe how easily we can overlook or even at times forget how important the spirit is in the material world. Reminders are always a +++ positive!

There was a section in that particular book which focused on Astrobiology-which, (summarized), was a calculated way of figuring out times when a particular woman is able to concieve- as a form of natural birth control. Based on the moon's position at the time of our own birth, it could determine " a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing"--- I found this fascinating, and she had written that there would be more about this in a new book coming out. But when I was looking online, it was then I found out she had passed away and I don't think the book was even written. ( I could be wrong) I thought it was so interesting, it was said that this was the method used back in the days when Egyptian kings and royalty were concieved. Could you imagine how much money and stress from unwanted pregnancies could be saved if this knowledge was widespread???!!!

Fresh out of high school and living with my grandmother, I got that book.
It is long gone, burned up in a house fire.
However, I was reading the match that was my grandmother and father, who had already passed. She giggled all the way through.

When I read the combination Capricorn/Capricorn, she mentions that he would let her, and only her use his trusty chainsaw...had me laughing.
When my then partner where first seeing each other, there was a situation and it ended up that he had to use my car. The only transportation he had was a 30 foot school bus RV. I was at work so he drove the bus there and when we exchanged keys, he said I could wait, or drive it home, showed me the gears an said warm up the breaks.
I had never driven anything that big, but he seemed to know I could do it and would.

Been working my little tushy off....but here I am for the moment.

I want to speak a bit on what is called a 'significator' card.
This is a card that is intentionally pulled from the deck for it's specifics.
As you know, I am a Capricorn Sun and a Virgo rising and often the significator can be chosen based on astrological aspects of the individual who is getting a reading.
This can be on of the archetypes from the Major Arcana or any one of the suit cards.
Using myself as an example, I could chose either the Devil or Hermit card from the majors because of their astrological associations to these signs. I could also choose one of the court cards from the Pentacles suit because of the Earth connection.
Sometimes I feel more like the controlling in charge King, other times I feel like the independent business minded female that is the Queen. Hardly ever do I choose the Knight or Page.
However, one does not have to go by the astrological connection, or be limited to just the Major Arcana or courts.
I have often used the other Queen cards and at times a card that is neither major or suit.
If I am faced with a hardship materially or physically, I may use the 5 of Pentacles.

The significator is the card that signifies where and who you are in that moment and in regards to the situation or issue that is being read about.

While I toy with the idea that there may be people that have some sort of gift for, lets use"divination" generally and loosely, I think they are so rare and far between they are impossible to find. Especially amongst the tone of people who practice that don't.
I have now and again searched out and gotten various kinds of 'readings', palm, tarot, over the phone, just sitting in a room - none gave me any kind of useful information.
The last couple gave me the latest new scam line "you have some darkness hovering around you - if you want to sign up for a series of cleansings I can find out what it is and get rid of it"
