Not really -- sometimes an old thread gets listed at the bottom of the page as a possible subject you might be interested in, and sometimes people click on them and comment. It's a way to open up the whole forum to people that might just stay in one or two subjects.

"May" being a modifier that is really only included to pander to the linguistic pedants. Given that the core premise of such religions are not just slightly but ENTIRELY unsubstantiated however we could justifiably change "may" into "by far most likely".

CD seems to encourage using old threads rather than starting new on the same subject.

Yes. I just get annoyed when members of a religion try to use threads like this as some sort of recruitment tool. Maybe that's not the case here, but I've seen religion interjected into such arguments before, when it is out of place.

yes, I agree, but they jump in when the opportunity offers itself. I think their leader requires that of them in order to redeem their rewards. Yet another reason I dislike religions, but that's another thread.

To get back on track...I agree that some spirits try to cause issues between people and that's where I don't get it. Why cause issues between an innocent person and another by missing items in a drawer. I've experienced missing items and I recall my little brother who was like 6 years old pretended he was a psychic and magically found the item I had "misplaced." Of course, having such a brother you never knew, but in my case, there was NO doubt at all he was being completely honest. I knew he was psychic. I was only a pre-teen, but that experience stuck with me.

That is entirely my fault I apologise. I was using the SEARCH function to find a quote from another user on this thread and entirely failed to notice that the results were not Date sorted. I then saw a post and replied to it without checking the date.

Again my apologies for this. I am on the road at the moment and I make many errors with my mobile platform and - as some users have noted - am not replying to posts as quick as I normally do either.

isn't this the point of a forum? Why reinvent the same thread if an old one is there? If people find the topic interesting, them by all means, shouldn't we be able to comment on it or is there a cutoff date for the same?

I did not say one could not - or should not - I was just explaining why I did in this particular case.

First of all, let me start by saying that I am agnostic. I don't believe in religion, I'm not sure about the existence of God and I am highly sceptical of anything "paranormal" or "supernatural". I grew up in an atheist environment, which includes my whole family apart from my now deceased grandfather. So, the fact that I'm even pondering the possibility of paranormal activity says a lot

A couple of weeks ago my mother moved into a new house and since then, a lot of strange things have happened. Objects keep on disappearing and reappearing again with no logical explanation. It started when we couldn't find the scissors. I checked every single drawer and I even took out the drawer where the scissors usually are and turned it upside down. It wasn't there, although my mom swore she put it there that morning. We went to a cousin's birthday party and when we came back, I opened that same drawer again and the scissors were right there, in plain sight! I thought that was kinda odd but I didn't really think about it anymore, I figured there must have been a logical explanation for it. A few days later, a similar situation occured. My mom wanted to go grocery shopping but she had to go to the toilet first so she put her wallet on the living room table. A few minutes later, she came back into the living room to get her wallet but it was gone! At first she thought I was pulling a prank on her but I was upstairs the whole time. The next day, she woke up to find her wallet right next to her bed on the night stand. Two days ago, I couldn't find my comb that I always keep in my purse. I looked everywhere, all the drawers etc. and I even turned my purse upside down twice, but it wasn't there. Today, I opened my purse again and my comb was right there, on top of the other stuff! I asked my mom if she had found my comb and she was very surprised, she hadn't seen it in a couple of days. To be clear: it's just me and my mom living in this house and we didn't have any visitors during the disappearance and reappearance of these objects.

What could this possibly be? Has anyone else experienced this kind of stuff?

While I'm at it, I had another strange experience when I was 9 years old. I was playing in the attic when I heard a very angry, hoarse voice whisper: "Hey! What are you doing here?!" I thought it was just my older sister trying to scare me so I ran downstairs and complained about it to my mother. My mother became very angry with me because it turned out my sister was at a friend's house and nobody else was home except my mother and my baby brother, so my mom thought I was just trying to get my sister punished for something she didn't do. Anyway, we never spoke about it again but I never forgot it. Five years later, my little brother ran downstairs screaming and crying. He was 9 years old at the time. He said that he had gone to the attic to get some toys and an angry voice had said to him: "Hey! What are you doing here? Go away!" My brother couldn't possibly have known about my experience because he was a toddler at the time and we never spoke about it since it had happened. I know this sounds like a low-budget horror movie but I swear this is exactly what happened. I remember it like yesterday.

I really don't know what to think anymore. The rational part of me says all this "supernatural" stuff is nonsense and I do believe that to a great extent but I can't deny my own experiences, right?

Your post proves that one need not believe in something for it to happen!

First of all, not everyone who believes in the paranormal, believes in God. There are no prerequisites.
Some believe in one. Some in both.

The first experience has happened to me quite a bit. It isn't uncommon. It does seem to happen when we are rushed, chaotic, and in somewhat unfamiliar surroundings.
If you just misplaced something, I wouldn't think that it was a spirit. However, the fact that something disappeared and reappeared, is pretty classic paranormal activity. Nothing serious, but I believe what you wrote happened to you, and obviously that isn't natural.

It could be a house spirit - all homes have them - playing a small trick on you. Or it could be a former resident, letting you know that they are still around.
Either way, it's annoying, but noting to worry about.

The second incident sounds like a ghost of a former owner, possibly someone who was not fond of children. Since you no longer live there, you needn't worry about that either.
I can't tell if it's an intelligent haunting, and actual spirit of a dead person - or a haunting that is sort of like an imprint of something that was said in response to an event that happened a long time ago that plays over and over when the situation is right - in this case, when someone enters the attic.

Now might be a good time to ask your mother what, if any; her experiences were in that attic.

I have no doubt that you are sensitive to these things. That's not a bad thing at all.
