As a kid, did you ever have a fear of dolls, statues, soft toys.etc coming to life?
No. But I do now.

I do remember waking up one night when I was really little, must have watched something on TV the night before that was scary and had to have been something to do with dolls..because I was SO scared. Don't ever remember them bothering or scaring me before that. Don't remember that they really scared me long after that night. But, still to this day I can't watch anything that might be a scary movie that involves dolls. (children or animals either).
I don't ever remember hearing about the doll you are talking about. I clicked on the link and that made me want to google it. I found a youtube video on it and...I couldn't watch it all the way through. SCARED me..Whats bad was, it was just telling the story not showing anything scary..So guess it is going to be a night...I might not sleep well. Yikes..scary. (did you notice..I can't even type his name..it gives me the ebe gebez)
I have a question, don't know if this was asked already or not..but it said that the person that gave it to the family had, I guess you could say "issues" with the family. Why would they then take it out on a little boy? They said he was only 6. I think that is sad.

Perhaps as a way through which it could cause havoc on the family?
Robert the Doll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some of the stories sound too fantastic to be true - like the doll giggling, running from room to room...there are people alive today who SWEAR that they saw the doll moving, looking at them, winking at them from the windows of the house. It does send a chill down your spine, the possibility of such a thing.
Also Robert doesn't like his photo being taken. Those who have taken his photo have supposedly been 'cursed.' Spooky stuff .

Some of them were reported to even talked without batteries. So they started returning them and throwing them away en mass. I had one briefly but I don't remember it that well. I think it didn't work too good because it was a hand-me-down. It got torn up by the lawn mower and that's the last time I ever had one. Can't say I would want one anymore. I saw a youtube video about the little creatures and they are still as creepy as ever. I think there is something very strange about those little things. If you google search "ferby demonic" and there are pages and pages of stories and reports and questions about these little creatures having demonic possession and stuff like that.

My kids had Furby's. Creepiest damn things going!
My oldest daughter had one sitting on her bedside table that would just start talking in the middle of the night and it cussed like a sailor on shore leave.
My other kids were afraid of theirs. They got together and buried the dolls behind the garage because they didn't want them in the house anymore.

I personally think old dolls are kind of creepy. I look at it this way. You have a small child that loves and plays make believe with an object. Small children are known for being able to see spirits and to talk to them. So if you were a lost spirit, you might be tempted to attach yourself to an object like a doll to try to receive some of that love and attention. Or maybe you're a child that passes away and was extremely attached to that doll( or toy). Maybe you still have a connection to it and haunt it.
Go to Shadowlands, a great old website that has true ghost stories submitted by readers. Some are bogus but some make you wonder.
The scariest story I read for a long time was one where a boy and his sister enter an old abandoned house and go upstairs to a room that was once the nursery. They enter and there they see a girl they could see right through sitting by an old board game. She looks at them and says " Do you want to play?" He turns to tell his older sister to run and she's already halfway down the stairs!

My friend told me this story in high school. About a china doll whose fingernails grew down to the floor at night...into hideous claws.
That's creepy.

Well I certainly believe Furby dolls are possessed. Last month, I slept at a friend of mines house in the guest bedroom. I woke up at 3 in the morning to something saying, "feed me" in a creepy tone from the dresser. At first I just dismissed it then it happened two more times and it started irritating and spooking me out at the same time. I tried to turn Furby off but it didnt have any batteries in it. So I left the battery door open and hoped it would keep it quiet. Then it went off again about 10 minutes later but it sounded a bit angry. Then it turned around and looked right at me. I just leftand slept in the living room.
Come morning, I asked my friend about it and he said it hadn't been used in 6 or 7 months. They put in the guest room because it was waking his little sister up every night and scaring her even though the batteries had been taken out.

Removing the batteries didn't work on my kids Furby's either.
My oldest daughter received one as a gift at her baby shower. She didn't even finish taking the gift wrap off, she made her husband return it to the store.
Talk about childhood trauma.
