I will. It's sort of feels fated - as though some sort of serendipitous or synchronicitic event drew us to this house! We were literally about to drive home when we thought we'd take a ride. We were not really looking to move out of state, but we knew we needed to move so we checked out a few homes not far from the university my son attends.

We saw a sign and my husband thought we should call. I said forget it, I don't really want to move this far from home. We were just about to get on the interstate and I suddenly said "let's see it!"

And so we did.

Sheena, I see a very cozy looking house that needs new screens and whose windows reflect lots of light, both of which may be responsible for Mr. Chaplin, and both of which, to me, are making a sort of tuxedo cat effect on the attic window.

That yellow pine woodwork is warm and beautiful. The house might need some work, but the less DIY "improvement" you can find in an old house, the better.

I think it's cozy looking too, and I love the woodwork! It will be fun to restore.

yeah i agree with seein2 the future..the sense of the family, the pride, the ownership. they put into the house, they put themselves, their ideas, their love, their dreams. Many people come and "take" from homes. they invest a little here, a little there. they just stay there until they move on. I also don't get any sense of the house harboring anything malicious. Just a suggestion......if sage doesn't work try cedar or even both. also salt and rosemary are oldies but very goodies. enjoy!

i was looiking again this morning as the kids have had me uo since crack of dawn. Hence my many typos, late night, early mornings. And i still think the same. i get he feeling of diff owners. the 1st set i think maybe a woman, she moved on. then maybe the family i see. they loved this house. And simply with the right person to get it. If its meant for you then you shall get it, and they will help. I feel the gentleman was a strong charecter and was maybe strict but in a good way.
he wanted the best for his children. The wife sees herslef in you. sensitive, and kind hearted but if you push her too hard she can be very tough too. Motivated and proud.
Again i think once the house is purchased they may stick there heads in now and again too see how its coming along, then they feel content they will move away leaving the new owners to take over.
As you can imagine it must be hard seeing something you love dear going away. But i feel for a long time this house may of been abandoned, either that the owners were not living in. Orit was empty, and lay stagnent. prehapa as i just see emptyness for a long while, and them feeling saddened by this wishing a family would come and take over, i may be wrong as pictures is not my best point, but twice now i hve seen this so maybe x

I don't see anyone looking out of a window. I love that there is lots of sunshine pouring through some of the windows and love the woodwork. What sort of neighborhood is it in? Are the surrounding houses in disrepair, or are they kept up?

Oh for goodness sake, there IS no one looking out the window. What you are seeing is exactly what Sheena said: reflections trees and the sunlight bouncing off the window screens.

Sheena it looks lovely and peaceful. The one vibe I get from it is that it is lonely and wants to be occupied!

Where is this one? I hope it provides you solace after what you've gone through lately.

On post #43 there are pictures of the neighborhood. It is arguably the ONLY unkempt house in the nighborhood. The others are well maintained. From a purchasers point of view, that's a good thing.

The area is anchored by a church on the corner of my street which is oddly of the denomination in which I was raised and I'm still officially a member - Lutheran ELCA - the more progressive branch. Across the main road there in a Country Club. And more stately homes.

I'm on the fence about the faces. The screens are lose and buckled and the windows reflect the trees that surround the house.

I can see faces in anything - clouds, foliage, trees, splattered paint - anything.

It's a beautiful house. I think the face is a reflection of the trees. The house looks warm and honest to me.

Yes, they lived there.

I've noticed most people associate an entity as something potentially harmful, not always true.
