Ahhh but the scientific community has never said that there is no such thing as a soul. So far we have not created a measuring device that can measure such a thing.

I have also tried LSD way back in the day and NEVER experienced anything spiritual at all.
There are levels of Lucidity. Many claim to Lucid Dream when in reality it is not a true Lucid Dream. There were no hallucinations in my Lucid Dream. It was unlike any feeling I have ever experienced on this planet even while in a deep meditative state of mind. I was fully consciously awake in the Lucid Dream.
However back to the scientific community. I watched an interesting documentary called DMT The Spirit Molecule. A Ph.D. scientist did an experiment to see if what people claimed were true.
He enlisted only fellow Ph.D.’s and staff members that were willing to participate in the study since they did not want a bunch of hippy drug users volunteering for the study. It was very interesting that one of the volunteers was a staunch atheist before the experiment...but changed her mind afterwards. She realized that there really was something on the "otherside"

You are attaching earthly and human characteristics as properties of our soul.
Once we are out of this fleshy body none of that pertains to us. Our soul is not constrained by the illusions that we experienced on planet earth in our fleshy body.

My belief stems from my life experiences and logic including a very strong scientific education and actual life experiences.

You depart with a concrete belief...who do you think will most likely experience the rude awakening?
I think it would be more interesting if people included why they believe as they do.
Keeping in mind that we all get why Christians think like they do. No harm meant but we have all heard over and over why they think like they do ad nauseum.
Here is a great quote from a brilliant American Physicists:
“Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.”
