I see amulets as a focus tool for energies and do use them.

I prefer to make my own; there are many ways to do this and I feel that by doing it yourself you add a bit more 'intention' to it.

One of my favorite ones is a perfectly round rock from Lake Superior that I turned into a talisman of Jupiter using a fine point gold paint pen.

There are plenty of sites on the web with talisman templates and instructions for making your own amulets if you are so inclined. If not, there are sites to purchase talismans/amulets. It's mostly about focusing your energies into the talisman/amulet and giving it a purpose.
