I do think the times around 2-3 AM have a psychological effect on people however... it's when the night feels the darkest.
you mean after last call and people are drunk?

But I don't think everything is waiting till then to happen. It's going on all the time, but since it's more subtle, it's easier to miss with the TV blaring and car horns and traffic noise and kids and pets and computers and vacuums...... during the day we aren't usually still and more aware.
totally agree with this, also, there are so so many other dimensions aside of ours, and during the nite, like you say, our awareness is more apt to pick up on things that are not normal....

Supposedly between 2 Am and 3 AM is when alien abductions and encounters take place the most.

We have night lights around the house, and we live in an urban well lit area. My sister does this complete darkness thing, and I hate it. It activates my claustrophobia.

I also have very old cats, who have a tendency to be underfoot, so I’ve taken to having my cell phone by my bedside, and if I wake up to go to the bathroom, I have a low light light in my hand to see my aged tripping hazards who I love very much.

I can also flip on my white noise for an hour, to go back to sleep.

I'm up at 4, so I wake up anytime between 1 and 3 p.m. and cannot get back to sleep...ugh.

I accidently closed the tab, but found an interesting article earlier this evening. A pope named it the Witching Hour. Pagans, herbalists, midwives, often worked and practiced at night to avoid persecution. I knew that, but I was looking for a good reference.

This makes me wonder if ghosts, demons and other spooky things pay attention to time zones...or Daylight Saving time.
