One thing all these haunted house, exorcism type movies all agree on is..... The 3am-315 in the morning when most activity happens. I've always wondered if this is true. Is their dark forces that lurk during this small time frame?!

I've wondered. When I was in high school, I had some weird happenings with several different clocks at 3:13 am on occasion for a few years.

It seems to be 3:30 am in our house. So often that I used to play a game with myself - when a noise (usually a sound along the lines of something falling down the stairs or something equally noisy) or whatever woke me up I would think, "I bet it's 3:30" and then look at my phone for the time. Sure enough it would be EVERY time, within a few minutes. The person we believe haunts our house (the father of my husband's ex) was an early riser every day of his life. Awake before 4am according to DH. So it does make sense.

Balderdash...also why do most hauntings occur at night? The night is the time of suggestiveness for the brain. Nothing strange about some artificial time/number.

I believe in it in a real world sense actually. That is the time many crimes take place in the streets or subways around these parts. Esp on weekends, When people are coming out of pubs and the like. As far as haunting and paranormal, There have been many cases where things took place during the day.

I think the reason we notice more then is because around that time everything is more quiet and peaceful and you can notice more with out all the distractions of the day.

But I don't think everything is waiting till then to happen. It's going on all the time, but since it's more subtle, it's easier to miss with the TV blaring and car horns and traffic noise and kids and pets and computers and vacuums...... during the day we aren't usually still and more aware.

I thought it was 3-4 am...what about 12-3am, or 4-5pm? What's so special about 3am?

I've never heard of it termed the "witching hour" until this thread but I have noticed that my spiritual activity has often occurred around that time as well as slightly before and afterwards. I've had both positive and negative activity around that time though so never thought of it as a "bad time." Just an "active" period.
