Default Odd star in western sky at dusk

Hi, been on a few forums where people report seeing a bright star that changes colors that would be south/southwest at dusk. It is visible along with Venus (to the right of Venus). If anyone has a clear view of western horizon at dusk, take a peek yourself. The odd thing is though.........it's not always there. I know it sounds crazy but google red object in western sky. Youtube has a bunch of videos as well. Saw it myself 2 months ago a few times. Son in law thought plane but it didnt move. Sky maps dont show anything where this is showing up.

I found this explanation from Earth Sky in October: Arcturus at evening. Comet ISON, Mars, Regulus before dawn | Tonight | EarthSky
The brightest object in the west after sunset is Venus, and the red star Antares is near Venus. But there’s another reddish star you might notice as well - Arcturus - and this one is likely to be flashing colors.

If you have a smart phone, download the app "google sky". Best app to use while star gazing ever!
